SICILY. Syracuse. Pyrrhos, 278-276 BC. AE (Bronze, 23 mm, 9.64 g, 9 h). Head of Herakles to left, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. Athena Promachos advancing right, holding thunderbolt in her right hand and shield in her left; in field to left, trident. CNS II, 177. HGC 2, 1450. Attractive bluish patina. The reverse struck somewhat off center, otherwise, very fine.
